London Original Print Fair 2025 | Stand S3

20 - 23 March 2024

At London Original Print Fair 2025, Upsilon Gallery presents a curated selection of works celebrating the unique medium of printmaking and works on paper, showcasing the boundless possibilities of abstraction across generations and styles.

One part of the presentation highlights a group of international young female artists: K Blick, a South Korean artist who blends figuration and abstraction to explore Korean mythology; Cathy Tabbakh, whose contemporary still lives examine the relationships between colour and form; and Hannah Lim, who bridges Western aesthetics with Chinese traditions. Their works on paper reveal distinct approaches to abstraction while honouring cultural narratives and the expressive potential of colour.

Another section features prints by Bridget Riley and Gerhard Richter, two leading figures in abstraction. Their works demonstrate a mastery of process and experimentation, offering distinct yet complementary perspectives on rhythm, perception, and the expressive possibilities of printmaking.

The selection also includes prints by Osvaldo Mariscotti, a core artist of the gallery, who reinterprets geometric abstraction through a contemporary lens, exploring the role of colours in shaping individual experience.

A further segment presents Helen Frankenthaler and Francine Tint into dialogue, two artists of the same generation associated with Colour Field painting. Francine Tint, deeply inspired by Frankenthaler’s work, is currently presenting her debut UK solo exhibition at Upsilon Gallery (February 13 – April 6, 2025). To mark this occasion, the gallery is releasing a special print drop created exclusively by the artist for the fair. Francine Tint will also join Upsilon Gallery founder Marcelo Zimmler at the booth for a talk on Saturday, March 22, at 6 PM.

The London Original Print Fair (LOPF) was founded in 1985 to provide an unrivalled opportunity to view and buy original prints spanning five centuries, from top international dealers, publishers and studios. After 35 years at the Royal Academy of Arts, LOPF has moved to a new venue, and will take place in the elegant galleries at Somerset House in the Strand. Artists at the Fair include old and modern masters, from Dürer, Rembrandt and Canaletto to Whistler, Matisse and Picasso. Prints by today's leading artists are also for sale, including works by celebrated printmakers David Hockney, Cornelia Parker, Grayson Perry, Paula Rego and Bridget Riley.
