Stephen Bezas is a New York-born artist whose paintings combine formal precision with emotional resonance. Working across figuration and text-based abstraction, he has developed a distinctive visual language rooted in layered systems of dots, colour and geometry. Constructed through intricate grids and accumulations of marks, his compositions shift between clarity and dissolution, inviting close and sustained looking.

A graduate of the High School of Art and Design and the School of Visual Arts, Bezas studied under Chuck Close, whose use of the grid had a lasting influence on his practice. Alongside his work as an artist, Bezas has had a successful career in architecture and interior design, disciplines that continue to inform the structural logic and spatial sensibility of his paintings.
